Although a great deal of scientific research has highlighted the close links between indoor and/or outdoor air quality and our quality of life, the pandemic that hit us has made us even more aware of the importance of air quality and its impact on human health and the environment. A Walloon consortium comprising Deltrian International, Ionics, Université de Liège/Chemical Engineering/PEPS-NCE, Université de Mons and Centre de recherches Materia Nova has been set up to propose a solution to this challenge.

The consortium's aim is to create filters for air handling units (AHUs) that will integrate several functions (biocide and CO2 management) to improve indoor air quality.

The consortium's ambition is to develop the best recycling process for used filters, thereby reducing the environmental footprint of the manufacturing process for disposable air filters used in ventilation systems at the end of their life cycle. This process will be carried out in collaboration with an external company.
