SAPII
During this 3-day intensive course (03-05 September 2018), participants will learn how to develop, apply and successfully implement Process Integration (PI) in their industry. PI stands as a suite of rational engineering tools to maximize energy and resource efficiency at the system level. The course covers theoretical and practical aspects to apply and get familiar with Process Integration. Real examples from different industries will illustrate the benefits of PI, as well as its technical and non-technical challenges.
The course is primarily aimed for industry-based engineers, MSc, scientists, PhD students, and related stakeholders (academic, government...). Targeted sectors include process industries and energy intensive industries: chemical industry, materials and metals processing, mining, pulp and paper, food processing...
Programme
Among others, following topics will be covered: Heat integration, heat storage technologies, mathematical modelling tools, data validation, integration of CO2 capture...
In addition to lectures, practical exercises will be solved by participants to reinforce the learning, and the workshop will conclude with a panel discussion on the opportunities and barriers of PI in the industry. The course will be given by European experts from the academia as well as from the industry.
Note: Some exercises will be done using Excel. It is thus asked to participants who can to take a labtop with excel-like application installed.
